BOTM book; all opinions are my own

This is another Book of the Month choice that has taken me a while to finally read. But again, I’m glad I finally made the time. The book is essentially about a man who has abducted a child, and it’s reminiscent of a serial killer called The Whisper Man twenty years ago. The officer on the case then is called in to help, so we get his POV. We also get the POV of a man named Tom, who just lost his wife, and moves to this town with his young son, Jake.

I really liked The Whisper Man. I thought it was interesting that some sort of copy cat seemed to be on the loose again, or was it an old accomplice they never caught? I felt really bad for Tom, as his son starts saying weird things and having conversations with people that aren’t there – or at least, Tom doesn’t think they are there.

Throughout the book there are some different mysteries revealed, which I loved. The overall mystery felt a bit too easy so it was nice when I could be properly surprised as I read. I gave this one four stars, because I did really like it and wanted to keep reading to know what the heck was actually going on. I wish the “big reveal” was a bit different – or more – but that’s okay!
