My Month Is Booked: October 2022
The following are books that I’ve shared full book reviews of on the blog since the last My Month Is Booked. I’m just going to share a bit here in case you missed them.
Throughout the book there are some different mysteries revealed, which I loved. The overall mystery felt a bit too easy so it was nice when I could be properly surprised as I read. I gave this one four stars, because I did really like it and wanted to keep reading to know what the heck was actually going on. I wish the “big reveal” was a bit different – or more – but that’s okay!
This one follows single father, Adam, and his new neighbor (slight recluse), Wes. I loved seeing Wes kind of come into his own more throughout the book. He still had anxiety about things, and I definitely understood why. That’s one thing I loved about the book is that it dealt with various aspects of mental health and I thought it was handled really well.
The show itself was a lot of fun! I don’t really care to go to weddings in real life, but I like to read about them for some reason. Plus, this show was a mix of wedding prep and crafts, which I AM HERE FOR!
I love all those ghost hunting shows, so I was really curious to read Horror Hotel. I have to say that it wasn’t as awesome as I’d hoped – but I did give it three stars. I liked the overall mystery and the ghosts. Plus, the LA hotel was fascinating to learn about. However, there was a bit too much romance for me. I don’t mind some, but for a shorter novel, I think it overtook the rest of the story. There is LGBT+ rep though, and I always appreciate that!

The Whisper Man is the perfect creepy read for October!
It’s hard for me to read MM books when the character has my husbands name 😂
Horror Hotel is on my library list, but I’ve seen a couple mixed reviews too.
Roan Parrish and Meghan Quinn are two authors on my TBR. Also, I love that cover for Horror Hotel!
It’s a shame you didn’t like Horror Hotel as much as you’d hoped, because the premise sounds interesting. I love ghost hunting shows too!
I don’t really enjoy attending weddings either but I do love reading books about them!
I’ve been really curious about Horror Hotel too so that’s good to know. 🙂
I am drawn to the Roan Parrish book! I have also heard great things about Meghan Quinn too!
The Wedding Game sounds really cute.
The show in the Wedding Game was fun, but it was all that mushy family stuff that got to me. I liked this one
Horror Hotel sounds like such a fun read for the season! I will have to keep an eye out for that one. 🙂
I love weddings for the cake! lol And I love Meghan Quinn books, so that was a great one! I want to read Horror Hotel, it’s on my TBR.
Horror Hotel is in my TBR. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Of the books you shared it is Horror Hotel that most appealed to me. However given that you found it romance heavy puts me off a it as I’m not overly keen on too much romance and especially when as you say its a shorter read.
The Whisper Man and the Horror Hotel look fun. I always find that it’s hard to scare me with a book. Movies do a better job I think because you have the visual and spooky music.
Yeah, I think you need either the horror or the romance. You really can’t do either justice. As always, thanks for your honest reviews!
I’ve read like 1 book a month lately lol Horror and romance? Interesting combo lol
