Why I Donate With Omaze

This time of the year is also known as the season of giving, so if you’re someone who is looking for ways to give back to the causes you believe in, then I’d like to introduce you to Omaze. Obviously I hope that we all can embrace the season of giving all year long, but this is definitely a good time to begin.

Chance to Win Prizes

There are amazing experiences that you can try and win when you donate on Omaze. You have the chance of winning fantastic vacations, meeting famous actors and musicians, and more! If you’re going to donate, why not give yourself the chance of getting something amazing in return? Plus, donations start at just $10 for 100 entries, and you can go up from there. I haven’t won a prize, but it’s kind of exciting to know you have a shot!

Good Causes

Each experience gives to different causes, so if you want to support a specific charity, then you can look at the various sweepstakes and donate to the ones you most want to help. Some of the charities included are GLSEN, True Colors Fund, Kids 2 Camp, and so many more. I think donating is fantastic, and I’d be happy giving to any of these causes, so I like that Omaze gives you the chance to learn more about the charities you might not have heard about otherwise.

Donate With Purchases

Omaze even has a shop where you can purchase t-shirts (and sometimes even pins, hats, etc.) and 100% of net proceeds goes toward that charity. I bought a Love, Simon t-shirt that says “Why Is Straight the Default” to support GLSEN. This is definitely a fun way to donate, as you are definitely getting something in return!

Money Back

No matter how you donate – whether you buy something from the shop or decide to enter an experience sweepstakes – you can always get money back if you sign up for Ebates (normal amount is 2% cash back, but sometimes websites raise it here and there). If you don’t already have an account, you can sign up with my affiliate link: https://www.ebates.com/r/LAUREN4300?eeid=28187. If you spend $25 at a participating website (and Ebates works with many, many, websites) you will get $10 back. After that, each website has a certain percent back – though sometimes they have specials where it’s double cash back, so keep an eye out and maybe add the Chrome extension to your computer to get reminders!

  1. I’ve been curious about Omaze because I keep seeing these awesome experiences you could win if you donate. I’m happy to know it really is a worthy cause and that it helps a lot of causes, especially some that are maybe not as well known but just as important.

  2. Awww this is incredible! I’ve never heard of Omase before. Will have to check this out—I love that you can bid on auction items. Thanks for sharing, Lauren!

I’ve never heard of Omaze! I am so glad you shared this. I always donate locally to small charities where we live because I’m never sure of what the best large scale charities to donate to are.

I’ve never heard of Omaze before, but thanks for sharing. It sounds like a great way to take care of Christmas shopping and giving back!

  5. What an amazing way to encourage people to donate and regularly. It’s shame it doesn’t extend to worldwide charities, hopefully one day we’ll see them in other countries too. We’ve donated quite a bit this year with the drought our local farmers have been facing, sponsoring bales of hay for farming livestock and in the last few weeks, donating to hampers and toy drives for families doing it tough this Christmas.
