Happy New Year! I know I’ve been a bit MIA on the blog. I’ll have to do some update posts soon, and I definitely need to start scheduling ahead again. At any rate, I’m a couple days late with Currently but I love this link up, so I had to join!

Loving: that my aunt and uncle are safe! They were in a bad car accident before Christmas and are really lucky to be alive and doing as well as they are. They both need PT, but my aunt will be in an actual rehab for a few weeks or so (my uncle was finally released to go home).
Organizing: my books and Harry Potter collection. Adding in new books means I need to try and make room – and get rid of older books. I’m also always adjusting my Harry Potter collection as I get new things.
Resolving: to move more. I take tap dance classes but I didn’t do as much of that last year since I was sick a lot. I’m hoping that things will be a bit better in 2023 so I don’t miss as much. I’m also going to try and find other ways to just move more!
Eating: slightly better. It’s a slow and steady process that didn’t just start with the New Year, but it’s also a good marker to try and make changes. I really need to lose weight, for my physical and mental health, and I know that what you eat is the most important thing. It can be tough, especially since some medicine I’m on makes it harder to lose weight, but I’m going to do my best this year and hopefully feel a lot better by December.
Anticipating: my friend’s wedding in February. I’m a bridesmaid so it should be a fun night!

  1. What a relief your aunt and uncle are ok, hopefully they continue to recover well. Good luck with eating better and moving more. I think covid has really made me lazier when it comes to exercise and movement and made me more of a homebody. I think eating healthier is definitely a whole change of mindset to be healthier and put the effort into your meals and that’s what I struggle with as I don’t enjoy cooking.

  2. So sorry to hear about your aunt and uncle. Thank goodness they are ok and on the mend. Scary stuff! Don’t we all need to eat better? I ma trying to cut out processed foods and include protein with each meal (which I have been doing well with). Baby steps.

  3. I’ve been super MIA lately too — welcome back! I’m glad your aunt + uncle are okay overall!

I also need to do a lottt of organizing — hoping to stay more consistent with exercise and the like too!

Happy New Year! I am so glad to hear your aunt and uncle are ok.
I am also organizing my HP collection. I gifted myself the new Order of the Phoenix Illustrated after I didn’t get it for Christmas. Have you ever seen the minalima editions?! I also have both of those and they are stunning!!

I just started a new blog link up party that will take place the first Friday of every month and the Currently posts are perfect for it if you would like to join in there 🙂 https://www.lifessweetwords.com/2023/01/first-friday-favorites-blog-link-up.html

Can’t wait to see more of how your year unfolds!

  5. How are you organizing books? I have my romance alphabetized by author but I’m running out of room and literally squeezing things in.

  6. I’ve been trying to eat better – not that I eat bad- but I have GERD and had a bad flare up so I need to get back on track with that.

The dogs are best motivator for moving lol It’s going to rain all week and they’ll be stuck inside so I made myself take them on a 3 mile walk around our lake and I saw otters playing!

    Happy New Year Lauren!
