It’s time for another Currently post – October Edition. You’re welcome to join in and link up with Anne of In Residence; she has a new Currently link-up every first Wednesday of the month.

October 2018…Currently

Wearing: Honestly, I’m still wearing a lot of dresses. The Fall weather really needs to arrive soon so I can start wearing some layers.

Collecting: All the book editions. I’m a huge fan of various books and series and it seems like there are always different editions that you can buy – new covers, exclusive content, signed editions, you name it. I actually pre-ordered Escaping from Houdini twice (one copy was signed and the other was the B&N special edition with extra content).

Making: Not much at the moment, but I do have a library event this Thursday (we’re making Halloween wreaths I believe) and I have a lot of other fun library events this month where I’ll be making things. I’ll be sure to share everything at the end of the month! Does your public library have craft events? Do you ever attend?

Taking: I guess I should be taking lots of Bookstagram photos. I have various books – and some fun fall props – so I just need to get photos taken and start posting them this month. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Bookstagram is where people take fun and/or fancy photos of books (usually with other props, etc.) and post them on Instagram. Are you following me on Insta? Leave your username in the comments and I’ll follow back!

Planning: All the fun events! October is my favorite month and there are always lots of fun things happening. I have a friend’s birthday party this weekend, a Halloween movie night with some friends, lots of great library events, a craft show, a Halloween themed wedding shower, and even more. Whew, it’s a lot, but I love it! It’s good to have things planned and ready to look forward to, you know?

Memory Keeping

Also, if you’re like me and you have an actual planner – or you scrapbook, or do something else to memory keep – please come link up related posts with me. I co-host a monthly link-up called Keep It Together every Third Thursday of the month and we’d love to have you. October 18 will be the next link up!

  1. It sounds like your fall weather and our spring are taking their time! We had such warm weather on the weekend and now this week the mornings are chilly again. Not complaining though πŸ™‚
Your Halloween movie night sounds fun! Enjoy the library event.
I think I’m the only person not on Instagram lol!

  2. candy

My list of making is never finished. Reading well right now it is just few magazines I am enjoying. Love the cooler weather.

  3. I love October because it’s like finally fall!! So many fun fall things to do. I’m heading to Vermont soon and cannot wait. Plus I love all the apple cider donuts I can get my hands on. haha

  4. I feel like I’m super productive this month, though it’s only day 3. HA! But I’ve been on top of the kids’ school work, signing things, book reviews, blogging, and I feel like I’m managing the two littles pretty OK. Not stellar and definitely nothing you’d put in a parenting magazine, but we’re all still alive. AND I worked out. Which is crazy.

  5. It seems we share a love of this month. I love the change from summer to fall and the colors, then there’s Halloween and those warm sweaters I’ve had tucked away for months! What’s not to love about October?

  6. Somehow I don’t follow that many Bookstagram accounts, which is crazy because I love pretty books, and I love scrolling through Instagram… I’ve added you, and now who else should I add?? πŸ™‚

And I totally need to see if my library has crafting events. That would be amazing. Meanwhile, we go to every single Lego-related event they have (and there are quite a few). My kid is obsessed!

  7. I’ve got Fall weather, you should come here! I am wearing lots of layers now! The event at the library sounds fun! And so does all the stuff you have coming up this month!

  8. I should be taking Instagram photos, too. My Insta handle is bookwyrmlark.

It’s still too warm here for layers most of the time, but I’m looking forward to wearing ALL THE KNITS!

I’ve tried to keep a planner but I’m rubbish at keeping up with it. (Actually, I’m rubbish at the artistic aspect of it, too.) So instead I just keep a notebook with all kinds of stuff scribbled down in it.

  9. I’m also woefully bad at posting to bookstagram although I have plenty of book, I struggle to find creative ways to take pictures of books. It’s getting preety cool already in Boston, so I’m enjoying the layers.

  10. Your library classes sound fun and you also sound like you have a fun month ahead! I’m just excited to get away this weekend with my husband for our anniversary! And it cooled off a bit today, it was 93 yesterday!

  11. Reading about the events that you go to at your library always makes me want to attend more library events! I’m pretty good about going to kid-related stuff, but should take advantage of the adult options they offer too! I love the library.

  12. I love these posts of your Megan when I get to learn so much about you πŸ™‚ I’m still wearing my sandals and dresses too! I’m never good at letting summer go πŸ™‚
BUT I do love my fall boot so I guess I’ll cave eventually probably after Columbus day πŸ™‚

oh man when my kids don’t spend every single penny I make I’ll be collecting ALL the book editions too. I am so jealous now! BUT happy for you πŸ™‚

  13. I think I have another to do list starting for November – I’d love to participate. I need to start taking more pictures for insta too – you can find me there @MarysMarblesBlog

  14. I wish I could still wear dresses but unfortunately it’s so cold in my country that I had to wear winter coat yesterday.

My birthday is actually next weekend. I use bujo to my memory keeping since my memory is the worst.

  15. We have made it to pants and long-sleeved t-shirts, but not quite the layer weather. October is busy with fall clean up and yard sales, trip to the orchard, a festival, and a few get togethers. Love that you’re doing some fun crafts at the library.

  16. As a former librarian, I am embarrassed that I didn’t know what Bookstagram was. Not sure I am spelling it right. Going to look into that. I am reading more now that I ever have so would love a space to brag. I love October, too. Usually perfect weather for doing about anything but it is still so hot here. I am ready for layers, too!

  17. I’ve been wearing a lot more dresses lately, mostly because it was suggested that I sometimes dress a little more on the casual side of business casual for work (sigh). Good thing it’s fall though, because it goes well with leggings and the like when it’s not burning outside!

I hope you have fun at the library event! I love that there are so many cool things/festivals to do in the fall! :]

  18. I love seeing all the bookstragram photos!! Some people take the most amazing flat lays of books and props, I hope it encourages someone out there to read more. Books can be pretty too. πŸ™‚
