Top Ten Tuesday: Soundtrack to a Book

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Audio Freebie (Any audio goes: audiobooks, music, podcasts, etc.)

I don’t listen to audiobooks. I’ve tried and I just can’t focus. However, I love music, and I even have a “feature” of sorts on my blog where I post songs that remind me of certain books. I need to do this more, but I figured I’d go back into old posts and find which books/songs I can find and share some here! Enjoy! And please let me know if any of these videos don’t work, etc.

  1. I can’t listen to music when I’m reading, but I have had songs in my head that fit perfectly for a few of the stories I’ve read. I’ll have to check your song choices out for If I Stay, Roger & Amy, and Anna and the French Kiss. 🙂

  2. I love your list. That said, I fought audiobooks for the longest time. But going, to be honest, earlier this year, I finally gave them a try. And I found I actually enjoyed audiobooks. And now, I mostly listen to books versus reading them. So go figure! 🙂

  3. I haven’t read any of those books but I love The Used! I like listening to movie soundtracks when I read. Bonus if it’s the soundtrack FROM the film! Lol!

  4. Jen

Wait, I don’t know a bunch of these songs! Except for the Hanson song 🙂 Now I have a bunch of new songs to listen to and also books to read!

  5. I love pairing books and music! And the Alexz Johnson song is great.

Oh my gosh Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell1 Awesome!!

  6. Even though most of these books AND songs aren’t familiar to me (am I out of touch or what?!) it was fun to read and think about songs to go along with books I like.

  7. I sometimes hear a song while reading a book and think how perfectly they fit. But I’m terrible at just coming up with songs to match books in general. It has to happen while I’m reading/listening or it doesn’t happen at all. I love seeing your matches! 🙂

  8. I am not good with putting music to books. The only one that struck a chord with me was after I read Me Before You, I heard Into Deep by Genesis and it was perfect for that book.

  9. I haven’t heard that song by Hanson in so many years! Heard it for the first time when I was in high school and we had an overseas family holiday to the States. I bought it on a cassette and listened to it on my Walkman.
    I feel SO old now!

  10. I didn’t used to be able to listen to audiobooks, and I still have trouble with certain types of books and certain narrators, but I do love to listen in the car. I rarely listen to anything else in the car anymore. Havne’t thought of the song “Somebody’s Watching Me” in a long time! That brings back some memories! Fun post!
