Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
Audio Freebie (Any audio goes: audiobooks, music, podcasts, etc.)
I don’t listen to audiobooks. I’ve tried and I just can’t focus. However, I love music, and I even have a “feature” of sorts on my blog where I post songs that remind me of certain books. I need to do this more, but I figured I’d go back into old posts and find which books/songs I can find and share some here! Enjoy! And please let me know if any of these videos don’t work, etc.

Let me know in the comments!
I can’t listen to music when I’m reading, but I have had songs in my head that fit perfectly for a few of the stories I’ve read. I’ll have to check your song choices out for If I Stay, Roger & Amy, and Anna and the French Kiss. 🙂
Cool spin on this week’s topic and I love your song choices!
This is such a brilliant idea, Lauren! New music and new books!! And they’re all new to me to boot~
I can’t focus on audiobooks either!
Got into audio because of my mother. Will check out your song choice.
Great list! I did something similar this week. I haven’t listened to Hanson in years, and now I really want to go home and dance around my room to ‘MMMBop’.
I love your list. That said, I fought audiobooks for the longest time. But going, to be honest, earlier this year, I finally gave them a try. And I found I actually enjoyed audiobooks. And now, I mostly listen to books versus reading them. So go figure! 🙂
Fun topic this week! I like all your choices!
Fun take!! I like your choices!!
I haven’t read any of those books but I love The Used! I like listening to movie soundtracks when I read. Bonus if it’s the soundtrack FROM the film! Lol!
Wait, I don’t know a bunch of these songs! Except for the Hanson song 🙂 Now I have a bunch of new songs to listen to and also books to read!
Oh, Grown Woman is the perfect accompaniment to Letters to Zell. Great choice there.
My Top Ten Tuesday post.
Oh Hanson. Its been so long since I heard another song by them that wasn’t mmmmbop or however you spell that. Great topic.
Such a cool idea! I haven’t read all of the books, but I love your song choices. I don’t listen to audiobooks either.
I’m always impressed by people who can make lists like these. I can never match up books with music or movie stars or anything like that. 🙂
Love what you’ve done with the list this week! Good job. 🙂
I love this take on the topic. Might have to do something similar if we get a freebie week. Great post!
I love pairing books and music! And the Alexz Johnson song is great.
Oh my gosh Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell1 Awesome!!
Now you have me nostalgic for Instant Star. I loved that show and all the music.
What a great idea!!!!
I am so out of the music loop! I don’t know any of these, but I love how you’ve paired them up.
Even though most of these books AND songs aren’t familiar to me (am I out of touch or what?!) it was fun to read and think about songs to go along with books I like.
I sometimes hear a song while reading a book and think how perfectly they fit. But I’m terrible at just coming up with songs to match books in general. It has to happen while I’m reading/listening or it doesn’t happen at all. I love seeing your matches! 🙂
This is so hard for me. I rarely put music with books until years later when a lyric pops up and reminds me of a character.
Great job!
Karen @ For What It’s Worth
Oh I love this! Such a good idea!
Ash @ JennRenee Read
Oh this is such a great idea for a post, I love it so much! ? I don’t know a lot of these songs, seem like I have to give them all a try! Wonderful pick for Amy & Roger 😀
I am not good with putting music to books. The only one that struck a chord with me was after I read Me Before You, I heard Into Deep by Genesis and it was perfect for that book.
No music for me when I read or write and I use noise reducing earphones when I listen to audio. I do like music though.
I haven’t heard that song by Hanson in so many years! Heard it for the first time when I was in high school and we had an overseas family holiday to the States. I bought it on a cassette and listened to it on my Walkman.
I feel SO old now!
What a cool take on TTT! I love this topic. You have some great picks!
I used to be like that with audio books! Couldn;t concentrate LOL I loved Somewhere With You. Thanks for sharing!
I didn’t used to be able to listen to audiobooks, and I still have trouble with certain types of books and certain narrators, but I do love to listen in the car. I rarely listen to anything else in the car anymore. Havne’t thought of the song “Somebody’s Watching Me” in a long time! That brings back some memories! Fun post!
I don’t know any of these books or songs. That feels very sad, lol. I know what you mean about sounds reminding you of books / matching songs and books. I do that too. 🙂
I haven’t listened to Relient K in ages. Thanks for sharing!
Lauren @ Always Me>
Great list! I loved the music.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Lovely post! And yes to Say Goodnight Not Goodbye and Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour! So very fitting! *off to listen to the song again because it’s been ages*
Oh Hanson. I did love them so. lol
This is awesome! It’s so cool that we both did soundtracks for books! You did a fantastic job 😀
